After dinner, my friends and I wanted to find a bar to chat. This place, Settled Down, happened to be within walking distance from the hotel, making it a perfect choice.
It's a bar that specializes in craft beer. Besides the 12 different flavors of beer on the wall, there are also canned beers in a small fridge nearby. Personally, I'm not too big on beer; although the beer was very cool, the bubbles made me feel too full. Luckily, they also offered a few non-beer options. The beverages listed below the beer menu in size # were all non-alcoholic, but the #4 for that day was alcohol-free, so I had to keep that in mind.
For my first drink, I ordered the #3 summer mojito, which was refreshing and quite good. I wasn't a big fan of my friend's #2 blueberry yogurt. The #1 watermelon, according to the staff, was made from local watermelon from Hualien, and I found that taste quite unique. Among the beers, I liked the #3 passionfruit storm the most; for cocktails, I preferred the summer mojito I ordered first.
The overall atmosphere of the place was really nice, and I quite liked the vibe. The restroom was also clean and fairly spacious. There was a dining space on the second floor, but the staff mentioned it didn't have air conditioning that day, so we had to stay on the first floor. There were quite a few customers that day, including some foreigners. I also saw pet supplies but didn't spot any pets themselves, so it seems to be a pet-friendly bar. Aside from alcohol, they also offered coffee, milk tea, cake, fries, udon noodles, dumplings, and more to pair with the drinks. However, I was too full to order anything that day, but if I get the chance, I’d like to try them out.
