I used Fooday to check out any restaurants with good reviews nearby, so I came to this American-style pho restaurant. I'm not sure if the taste is because it's "American" or if it's modified by real Taiwanese tastes. The food tastes relatively bland.
Raw spring rolls are often served with pickled radish or fish sauce as a dipping sauce, but this store has neither. The spring roll itself has no flavor, and you can taste the original flavor of the lettuce. The dipping sauce is made from peanuts, and the peanut flavor is very strong. I think it's pretty good myself.
Tom Yum Kung Rice Noodles is also pretty good, with a lot of seafood and worthy of its price (280). In terms of taste, there is no flavor of seasonings that Taiwanese are not familiar with, so most people should be able to accept it. I personally feel that the taste is a little bit not strong enough. I felt like the signature pho was missing something, but I couldn't tell what was missing. Overall, the taste was too bland and not very recommended.
In short, if you are afraid of fish sauce, which has a more Southeast Asian flavor, this restaurant is highly recommended. It has a taste that is acceptable to both children and the elderly (I actually saw 80- and 90-year-old grandmothers dining there). If the taste itself is strong, this store is not highly recommended.
