The Magic Tea hands Yanjiyuan store is located on Yanjijie Street in the Daan District of Taipei City. The nearest MRT station is the National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall, Exit 2, about a 5-minute walk away. The Yanjiyuan store is a new branch that opened in December 2024, and the overall decor is still very new and bright. The Magic Tea was founded in Tainan in 1993, and currently, there are nearly 600 branches across Taiwan.
Today, after lunch, I came to try it out with my coworkers. We joined together to buy 5 and get 1 free, totaling 6 cups. I ordered the following:
🔸 Green Plum Green Tea $45, no sugar, no ice.
There are no plums in it... it's made with plum jam. It has a sweetness without needing added sugar, with a sour and sweet taste that's quite nice, in my opinion! The editor from Tea Magic’s Threads recommended ordering the Green Plum Green with no sugar or a maximum of 1 point of sugar!
🔸 Coffee Jelly Earl Grey Milk $55, low sugar, lightly iced.
Uh... is this lightly iced? There are a lot of ice cubes 😂. Earl Grey tea + creamer gives a nostalgic creamy milk tea taste, and for people in Taipei, the low sugar pairing makes sense. The coffee jelly is a huge solid block; I personally think the coffee flavor is just average, but it's still acceptable. My coworker ordered the exact same thing, thinking it would be smaller, firmer coffee jelly pieces, and was a bit disappointed after finishing it.
