This time I visited "Little Ding-Dong Steak" at the Yongkang Salt Market Night Market in Tainan. This is a pretty popular budget steakhouse, and it's always packed with guests whenever I come. My favorite is their chicken thigh steak; the skin is crispy while the meat inside stays tender and juicy, making it very satisfying to eat. In comparison, their steak is just average. If I were to recommend something, the chicken thigh steak is definitely the better choice.
As for the side dishes, the standard night market offerings like corn chowder and black tea also perform well. The chowder is rich and creamy, and the tea has just the right amount of sweetness, making it pleasant to drink and adding a lot to the overall dining experience. However, one significant issue is that the order in the restaurant is quite chaotic; the staff often seems overwhelmed, their tone can be quite impatient, and they sometimes even mix up the seating order. Occasionally, it can make the experience a bit frustrating before you've even started your meal.
Overall, although the service needs improvement, the food at "Little Ding-Dong Steak" is still quite good, especially their chicken thigh steak and corn chowder, which are definitely worth trying. If you don’t mind the noise and possible minor chaos of the night market, this place is still a steakhouse worth recommending.
