Dining in Suva, the capital of Fiji, at first glance, the restaurant seems like an ordinary Chinese eatery. However, stepping inside reveals a whole new world: not only does it offer large seafood selections native to the islands, but it also serves Taiwanese-style hand-shaken drinks, creating an illusion of traveling between different cultures.

The most astonishing dish was undoubtedly the "super lobster." When it was served, it nearly filled the entire plate, and the visual impact was quite striking. The lobster's meat was firm and bouncy, with a rich, sweet flavor that was even more pronounced when prepared with garlic and steamed, allowing the seafood's natural deliciousness to shine through. The atmosphere was particularly lively as everyone gathered around the giant lobster to shell and share it, making this dish the centerpiece of the meal.

In addition to the seafood, another highlight of the restaurant was the Taiwanese hand-shaken drinks. It was surprising to find familiar options like bubble tea and winter melon lemonade in a small island in the South Pacific. Although the flavors were somewhat sweet and the pearls weren't very chewy, this combination felt especially comforting for Taiwanese travelers.

Overall, Yipin Hsuan combines the local seafood specialties with Taiwanese culinary culture, providing a novel yet familiar dual experience. If you find yourself in Fiji and wish to indulge in the bounties of the ocean while quenching your nostalgia for Taiwanese beverages, Yipin Hsuan would be a great choice.
