This time I visited the Hanki Night Market in Taichung, and as usual, it was very crowded. Besides a few well-known stalls like those selling tofu and salted chicken, the one I was most eager to try was this place—Yugua Shiguang's Jianbing Guozi.
I often see Jianbing Guozi on short video platforms from China, and after seeing it for so long, I've been curious about the charm of this street food. The first time I tried it in Taiwan was at this stall.
I ordered the Thai-style pork flavor, and surprisingly, it paired very well— the crepe was crispy on the outside and slightly chewy, the filling of the pork was savory combined with the unique egg and scallion aroma of the crepe, plus a bit of chili oil to enhance the flavor, making it very satisfying to eat. The portion of the filling was generous, providing a great feeling of fullness; it was indeed very sincere.
I also saw something called the "Old Iron Family Meal" on the menu, which reminded me of those short videos from China XD. Although I didn’t order it, I might consider it next time.
Overall, this Jianbing Guozi stall is not just a gimmick, but genuinely strong. If you like to try new things or are already curious about Jianbing Guozi, I highly recommend trying this stall at Hanki Night Market!
