【Foodholic Nako @ Kyoto, Japan】
This is a small shop specializing in taiyaki (fish-shaped cakes filled with sweet fillings) located in Arashiyama, Kyoto, on a street that isn't very crowded. It mainly offers takeout, but there is a small bench at the entrance where you can sit and eat, take a short break, and then continue exploring Arashiyama.
I didn't originally plan to eat, but as I passed by, I saw a few customers lining up, and the taiyaki smelled really delicious, so I decided to buy one with red bean filling to give it a try.
Red Bean Taiyaki ¥300
The taiyaki is quite large, and the red bean filling is generous. If you are having it for afternoon tea, one person would definitely feel full after finishing one. Even though I received it right after ordering, it seemed freshly made, so it was quite hot. The red bean filling isn't too sweet, and the two of us sharing one didn’t find it too rich.
