【Foodholic Nako @ Taipei】
"Yumu" is located on Huayin Street, very close to the Taipei Railway Station/Taipei Transit Station. It takes less than a minute to walk from Exit R2 of Taipei Station. The exterior of the shop features white and wooden tones, giving it a very fresh appearance.
You need to scan the QR code on the door to take a number; when it's your turn, you will receive a phone call notification. We arrived around 10:50 AM on a Saturday, and just as we finished scanning the QR code to take a number for two, we received a call saying they were arranging a seat for us, which was quite lucky.
The atmosphere inside the shop is pretty noisy and has a bit of an oily smell. After we ordered, we waited about 20 minutes for our food, which honestly felt a bit long.
Caramelized Onion Double Patty Burger $195
Contents include: burger patty (mixed pork and beef) *2, sunny-side egg, sautéed caramelized onions, cheddar cheese sauce, lettuce, tomato (I hate tomatoes, so I asked the staff to remove them), and yogurt.
Since there are two patty pieces, I felt very full after finishing! The patties were very juicy, and the only slight drawback was that they were a bit oily.
The burger bun was toasted crispy with a buttery aroma, and the overall seasoning was excellent, making it hard to stop eating. I really liked the ratio of the patties to lettuce; unlike some burgers that seem mostly like eating lettuce.
The sautéed caramelized onions were a nice finishing touch, turning the onions a deep brown, sweetening them up just right when combined with the patties, providing a nice sweet-salty contrast.
For an additional $150, you can choose either a lettuce salad or fries, plus one beverage of your choice.
Fries:
They were super thin, and while they were fried crisp, the thinness made them feel less substantial.
Osmanthus Honey Oat Milk Tea:
The homemade osmanthus honey is made from dried osmanthus and red rock sugar. I found the osmanthus flavor quite fragrant and rich, which paired well with the oat milk. The sweetness wasn’t too high, and this milk tea was quite tasty!
