According to the investigation, it originated from Shilin in Taipei and has been operating for several years at its Ximen branch. Named after Fish Pond, it evokes thoughts of the Sun Moon Lake black tea from Fish Pond Township; does its performance live up to that association?
I ordered the Fish Pond fresh milk tea (L) with 1 point of sugar and light ice, but the ice comprised a significant 60% of the drink, and the sugar at the bottom wasn’t mixed well. The tea flavor was weak, not rich or aromatic, and the proportion of fresh milk was moderate but also not creamy, warranting only an average rating.
Looking at their promotion and menu, it seems their main focus is on eight types of pearls, but they also sell iced stewed dishes and fried items. The branding and cup design are quite attractive, but the store decor and menu presentation appear rough and outdated. In this highly competitive hand-shaken beverage market, there is still room for improvement.
