📍New Taipei City, Linkou District
All-you-can-eat spicy hot pot restaurant with tofu and duck blood 🍲
#Open for the New Year
New Year's Eve: 10:00-14:00 (Take-out only)
New Year's Day: 17:00-01:30
Normal hours after the second day of the New Year: 11:30-01:30
Every time I visit the Mitsui in Linkou, I pass by this splendid two-story store and only upon closer inspection did I realize it's Old Sichuan.
On weekends during lunch, you can sit directly without a reservation.
The bar area offers drinks, ice cream, side dishes, sauces, and rice that you can help yourself to.
The staff are very friendly and introduce various dishes.
Each table is also given spicy cold noodles as a complimentary dish, which is both sour and spicy, very chewy, and quite enjoyable.
🥘
Ordered items:
🤍 Broth - Spicy pot and clear broth ($168 per person):
Spicy pot is a must-try! The staff will actively add tofu and duck blood.
The tofu absorbs flavors well and is quite large, while the duck blood is soft and tender; I quietly devoured a ton of it.
🤍 Premium Wagyu beef Small ($538):
This cut has less marbling, making it slightly tougher to chew.
🤍 Iberico pork Small ($428):
Highly recommended 🤩🤩🤩; the meat is very sweet and tender.
🤍 Squid shrimp paste ($318):
Generous portion that can make at least five or six balls, plus the shrimp pieces are quite large.
🤍 Baby Napa cabbage ($118)
🍄
Would I revisit? Yes!
The meal quality is quite good, and I really like the hot pot sauces that include cilantro 🤩 and sesame oil! Highly recommend pairing them with the spicy pot.
The environment and service are comfortable; the staff mentioned a 90-minute dining time, but I noticed it was not strictly enforced.
