Coming to the Bamboo Sea in South Sichuan means you have to try the whole bamboo banquet. Eating locally is the most authentic experience. This restaurant is where we stayed, and the overall environment is quite new, bright, and comfortable. There are some mosquitoes in nature, but their mosquito repellent works quite well.
The main dishes feature bamboo or ingredients that grow around bamboo. The scrambled eggs with bamboo shoots look remarkably like tripe and taste somewhat like bamboo fungus. The spicy pickled bamboo egg was eaten at another place; it has an oval shape somewhat resembling an egg and tastes like mushrooms. Bamboo ear mushrooms look and taste very much like wood ear mushrooms. The bamboo shoot soup is a mix of bamboo shoots along with some other vegetables and meats, all seasoned in a Sichuan style. Overall, it's a very unique experience, and all the dishes were quite delicious.
