Personal review:
Coco has always been one of the well-known traditional brands in the hand-shaken beverage scene in Taiwan, famous for its Passion Fruit Double Sound and Milk Tea Trio. Anyone who has enjoyed hand-shaken drinks growing up has most likely tried one of these. Many successor brands have developed from these two items as well. I personally hadn’t had it in quite a while, but since I live nearby and was craving something, I decided to indulge again, especially with the promotional price.
Compared to before, the cups feel smaller and more elongated now; they used to be rounder.
Since I had dinner, but still wanted a little something, I ordered the Pudding Milk Tea and the Honey Lemon Jelly combination. Two cups for 99 is truly a great deal.
🥤 Pudding Milk Tea / No sugar / Less ice:
This is my favorite ratio. The average milk tea meets pudding here, and the sweetness of the pudding can actually support the required sweetness of the whole cup of milk tea. Additionally, the tea flavor in the milk tea is sufficient; although it’s made with creamer, it doesn’t give off too much of a chemical taste. At the current price of 50 NT dollars per cup, adding a whole piece of pudding really adds a feeling of sincerity.
🥤 Honey Lemon Jelly / One third sugar / Less ice:
Actually, I wasn’t the one drinking this cup, but I did sneak a few sips. This cup can be made with options of black tea, green tea, oolong tea, or winter melon tea, in addition to the red tea. The honey lemon jelly is delicious and has a tangy taste, with quite a bit of jelly, thus filling the whole cup of black tea with a lemon flavor. Unfortunately, the aftertaste left is quite strong, possibly because of the added sugar; maybe opting for no sugar would increase the acidity and make it taste better.
By the way, there’s a girl who wraps the drinks with great service attitude, she’s very polite, and makes the drinks fast, with impressive professionalism. Highly recommended!
