🎉 Collaboration Dish with MasterChef Black and White 🎉

The culinary wave sparked by the Korean reality cooking show "Black and White MasterChef" can now be tasted in Taiwan at the Xiangbin Group's Sichuan Taste Cafeteria, in collaboration with the program and celebrity chef Zheng Zhi Shan, featuring a special limited menu 🫡

This time we introduce a meal for four 🥘

Signature Appetizer: Cucumber with Garlic
Refreshing cucumbers that are appetizing right from the start ☺️

Cold Dish: Spicy Lung Slices
The red oil color makes your scalp tingle even before tasting 😆 but it has a wonderful fragrant and spicy flavor, with thinly sliced tendon, shank, and tripe that are tender rather than chewy like rubber bands 😁

Set Menu Special: Mouth-Watering Chicken
The rich sesame sauce pairs perfectly with tender chicken, topped with crunchy crushed peanuts for added texture, and shredded cucumber beneath helps balance the richness 👍

Dry Pot: Crispy Rice with Shrimp
Juicy shrimp paired with vegetables and crispy rice, sizzling as the sweet and sour sauce is poured on, stimulating both visual and auditory senses; a dish loved by both adults and kids 🫡

Meat: Twice-Cooked Pork
A classic dish in Sichuan cuisine, the aroma of the bean paste and the Maillard reaction with the pork belly result in a dish that has a great wok fragrance upon serving. It pairs deliciously with tender tofu and celery 😊

Vegetables: Seasonal Greens
We chose sautéed water spinach for the greens, which is a refreshing choice, making the meal feel lighter 😂

Egg/Tofu: Pepper Fried Egg
This dish is a killer for white rice, with a runny egg and savory stir-fried minced meat topped with sauce. The moment the yolk breaks, the beautiful sight compels me to keep scooping rice into my mouth 🤤

Soup: Pot Soup
The rich broth occasionally sends out the aroma of Sichuan pepper, paired with the sweetness of white radish, which is very warming, although the pork belly in the soup seems a bit too fatty 🥲

Dessert: Snow Fungus with Lotus Seeds
The snow fungus is cooked for quite a while, melting into the soup and enhancing the richness of the dessert. The crunchy lotus seeds are quite delicious to eat together, and after so much spiciness, a bowl of sweet soup is just right to relieve the heat 👏

Collaboration Dish with Black and White MasterChef: Spicy Creamy Golden Silk Shrimp Balls
Fresh, sweet shrimp balls wrapped in a crispy golden coating paired with rich creamy sauce, enhanced with a hint of spicy Sichuan pepper. Each bite offers a rich texture and surprises the palate with every mouthful 😆

To sum up:

Although it's a chain store, each chef has a unique style. I must say that after dining at the Taoyuan Far Eastern Department Store location, I found the flavors to be excellent 👍 not too spicy or too salty (which can happen at other places) 😂 If you have the chance, be sure to try the Taoyuan location!
