I went to a restaurant where you can enjoy marinated salmon to your heart's content in Karasuma 🐟.
The place is called "Seafood and Occasionally Pork," and it is located right next to Karasuma Station on the Hankyu Kyoto Line and Shijo Station on the Kyoto City Subway 🚃.
It has both table and counter seating, making it an easy place to go for solo diners 😆.
This time, I tried a hidden menu item introduced only on social media - a reservation menu limited to 5 servings a day, which is the "All-You-Can-Top Marinated Salmon Set Meal" for 2,200 yen 🥰.
The all-you-can-top marinated salmon set comes with 230g of rice topped with grilled nori and served with a separate dish containing:
This was served with aomori seaweed miso soup as well 😆.
Afterward, the staff brought out a bucket of marinated salmon to start the topping process 🐟.
You can ask the staff to stop when you've had enough, and initially, they will fill your bowl with one whole bucketful of salmon 🐟.
The salmon belly is well marinated in a soy sauce broth 🥰. The flavor of the marinated sauce was delicious 🐟.
Next, I added the egg yolk, salmon roe, and green onions to make it even more luxurious ✨. When I broke the egg yolk, it turned into a fancy bowl of egg over rice 🥚🍚. The yolk was rich, the salmon roe was bursting, and the green onion was crisp – it was super tasty 🥰. Adding wasabi gave it a nice spicy kick 🔥.
The aomori seaweed miso soup was full of seaweed and had a wonderful flavor of the sea; it was very delicious ✨.
For all this, 2,200 yen is a fantastic deal 🉐.
If you love salmon, this dish is highly recommended 🥰.
I want to eat it again, and the variety of other menu items made me want to go back 😆.
