Last weekend, when I went to visit the Hsinchu Xinpu Township Agricultural Association, I had lunch at Tian Mama next door. Overall, the experience is worthy of a rating of 3.5 to 4 stars.
Each Tian Mama has its own unique features, and this one offers a rich and diverse menu, primarily focusing on Hakka cuisine due to its regional specialty.
Although the dining area was quite busy during meal times, there were plenty of seats available. Despite it being lunch hour, there was no waiting. Families with children can request high chairs from the staff. The indoor space has a high ceiling, which makes it feel spacious, but this also means that when it is crowded during meal times, the echoes make it quite noisy, making conversation a bit inconvenient.
The staff is friendly and polite. In terms of pricing, considering the quality of the ingredients and the dining experience, it falls into the upper mid-range price category, but it is worth the value.
Since it is right next to the Xinpu Agricultural Association, parking is very convenient. After finishing the meal, you can visit the nearby farm's exhibition and sales center to buy products from local farmers and agricultural associations from all over Taiwan. You could also stop by the café next door for a coffee and dessert; the rural scenery outside the café is quite nice. Together, it makes for a wonderful half-day trip itinerary.
