Here’s the translated text in English:

First, let's state the conclusion👀
I would be willing to revisit this restaurant for the meal👌
I have no problem recommending it to friends👍
It's delicious, reasonably priced, and the ingredients are substantial.
The atmosphere is better when dining in the restaurant, but… I might want to order takeout 😂

This time, I came to dine with friends!

Even though it was a weekday, we still made a reservation.
On weekdays, it seemed okay as there were still some empty tables, but on weekends, it might really require a reservation!

Also, the restaurant's sign is extremely inconspicuous!
(You’ll understand why if you look at the last photo.)
If it hadn't been recommended, I wouldn't have known there was a restaurant here if I hadn't found it on Google Maps 😂
📌Location: Taichung National Museum of Natural Science
If you come to visit the National Museum of Natural Science in Taichung, feel free to try this restaurant out! 👏

🅿️Parking Information
Cars 🚗: You can consider parking in the underground parking lot of the museum.
Motorcycles 🛵: There are some areas around the museum that allow parking.
❌ Don't consider parking right in front of the store.
Here's why:
1️⃣ In front of the store is a main road, where vehicle traffic and speed are high.
2️⃣ There are no marked parking spaces in front of the store (and no spaces for motorcycles either).
3️⃣ The sides of the store are residential areas, so parking right in front can block regular access for residents.
Thus, there's a notice at the entrance: 👉 Park across the street.

I'll let the photos express my thoughts about the dishes, but let’s talk about why I deducted half a star 😂

🌬️ The main issue is ventilation and the environment:

Inside, it's an izakaya setting with an old decor style, and there's quite a bit of clutter.
It seems to have been cleaned, but with the oldness + dim lighting + old building, it's unavoidable to have damp and stuffy air.

My friends and I chatted and enjoyed our food and drinks for about 2-3 hours. We left only when the restaurant staff began closing up and asked us for the last round of orders.

As soon as we stood up, we felt a wave of dizziness 💫
(We were sitting on a sofa, which is indeed lower, while the table is relatively higher; the height difference isn’t comfortable.)
Later, we realized that even though they had a fan on, it was just too stuffy!
It felt like we were lacking oxygen until we stepped outside, where we took several deep breaths of fresh air.

This is also why I’m considering takeout in the future 😅
After all, I don’t think anyone wants to faint from a lack of oxygen in the middle of their meal, right...?

Miso-Grilled Pork Rice Bowl $210 The portion of meat is quite generous, and the grilled meat is cooked just right and very flavorful! The rice bowl comes with an additional bowl of small salad 🥗! In my personal opinion, depending on one's appetite, just ordering one rice bowl isn't enough; you'll definitely need to add some other dishes. For someone with a slightly bigger appetite, I think they can easily eat two bowls without any problem. 👌
Spicy Cod Roe Udon Noodles (with Mullet Roe) $150 I think this dish is more like a side dish; the bowl isn't very big. However, my friend had it as a main course (as long as they're happy, that's what matters 😂). But this bowl of noodles really impressed me! To put it simply: it's a bit like the cold noodles from Chiayi mixed with cod roe 😂. You know, the cold noodles with mayonnaise 🤌. But it's really delicious! The udon noodles are so smooth that I just devoured them all, and there was a generous amount of cod roe! From the first bite of udon to the last, every mouthful was packed with cod roe and sauce!
Tokyo Mentaiko Cheese Baked Pancake $90 Half of our gathering is for this dish! It's highly praised by many! And it truly lives up to its reputation! They give a lot of mentaiko! It feels like a mentaiko thin pancake pizza, but you can definitely taste that the star is the mentaiko, not just crust and cheese in your mouth🧀, basically, it's all mentaiko👌 This place really gives generous portions!
Salad with sesame dragon beard vegetables served with rice bowl Compared to places outside, it also includes sweet peppers and carrots, The portion is not just a little bit to get stuck in your teeth, It's a bit pointy 🤏 (Of course, it won't be as much as a whole bowl of salad.)
Sauce-braised Chicken Roll $80 Mexican Spiced Spicy Chicken Wings $70 The chicken roll is a must-order! It's the kind of chicken roll that's roasted until the skin is crispy, filled with meat and juicy! The spiced chicken wings are quite standard, mildly spicy, and also roasted to perfection and very delicious. It's just a pity that the service was too quick! The rice bowls and grilled items were served almost simultaneously, so by the time I got to eat the chicken roll, it was already a bit cold. But even when cold, it was so tasty; I can only imagine how delicious it must be when freshly served! 👍
The decor of the store is full of alcohol advertisements, izakaya lanterns, and decorations.
This is the checkout counter (the staff will check out on the left side). There are really a lot of decorations! Because of that, it gives a very warm family atmosphere, but it’s... a bit stuffy 😓.
This is the store sign. This photo was taken from the perspective of standing at the entrance of the store, looking up. The side seen from the driveway is already completely worn out~ (It’s that broken sign on the left.) The letters seen from the front are very, very faint—faint to the point that I almost couldn't recognize them 😅 At this point, I'm really grateful to have a photo to compare to the appearance of the store entrance 🤣
