I went volunteering with friends nearby and wanted to grab a little snack to boost our spirits. Luckily, there was this shop right across from the gathering point at PX Mart, so we decided to give it a try.
Parking is convenient since there are parking lots available across the street with PX Mart and Bonjour, making it easy to find a spot for both scooters and cars.
During our meal, several locals came in, which shows that this place is a popular local snack spot. Friends visiting Tanci are also welcome to come and give it a try!
Stinky tofu for 60 yuan, five pieces.
I think it's fried just right; since my friend doesn't eat spicy food, we only added soy sauce. The side dish of pickled vegetables surprisingly includes both cucumber and pickled vegetables! Personally, I find the cucumber very refreshing, while the pickled vegetables have a more Taiwanese flavor, sweet and sour, unlike Korean-style which is spicier.
Overall, the combination of a bite of stinky tofu and a bite of pickled vegetables is great!
The other broth with compartments costs 40 yuan. I was startled to find pig's blood in it; I just wanted something a little salty, but I didn't expect there to be so many different ingredients.
The separated meat in the soup has quite a few pieces, and the soup includes shredded ginger and a hint of rice wine, making it even more fragrant.
The busy boss lady in the kitchen focuses mainly on fried tofu, but overall it is quite clean. Local people passing by also praise it as a must-try snack.
The store has few tables and chairs, but it is very neat and clean.
