Reviewer from the Taro Ball Shop: For Takeout Only
This newly opened sweet potato ball shop located in the Dusk Market on Heping Street is said to have come from Taichung, and I couldn't resist the urge to give it a try.
To my surprise, it was quite delightful; the outer layer was crispy, while the inside was chewy. Biting into it released a subtle sweet potato aroma, and the overall texture was distinct, not overly greasy or hollow at all.
Compared to regular sweet potato balls, its crispiness was more pronounced, and the chewiness was also firmer, making it very satisfying to eat without feeling greasy. This kind of sweet potato ball has successfully secured a spot in my top five sweet potato balls I've ever had; it's truly a rare gem. If you also enjoy crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside sweet potato balls that aren't oily, this shop is definitely worth a try!
