🍱 Magazine reports on Yamaguchi cuisine! The 10th ranked warm Japanese set meal at the roadside station in 2024 nationwide!
When traveling, I love to arrange visits to roadside stations (similar to rest areas in Taiwan). They offer various local specialties that are hard to find elsewhere, and the prices are incredibly cheap—highly recommended!
This time, I went to a roadside station ranked 10th nationally out of over a thousand locations, and it is also the champion in the Kyushu and Okinawa region of China. There are various types of restaurants available. I saw many local families and elderly couples dining, which made me think the food must be really good!
It turns out that this is a famous shop featured in magazines. In addition to the restaurant, there is also a variety of frozen fish products.
This time, I ordered a set meal that came with two pieces of fried white fish, accompanied by radish puree, tartar sauce, and lemon, along with barbecue sauce on the table. It was delicious until the very end! The fish was tender and not dry at all, and the skin was crispy and not oily, allowing me to enjoy the fresh taste of the sea!
The white rice is refillable, and the miso soup is filled with ingredients. Overall, the flavors are homey yet comforting, and the staff are gentle and kind, making it feel just like a cozy old shop in my neighborhood. Highly recommended!
