I often see King's Daughter's pop-up cabinets in major department stores, and there are a lot of crowds every time. This time I tried their traditional mochi first, which has a combination of flavors.
-Traditional Mochi-150-Flat-shaped mochi. The mochi skin doesn't taste very elastic, and it feels more like packaged mochi skin that breaks when you bite it. Personally, I don't like this kind of mochi skin. The filling part is filled with a thin layer of sauce, which is relatively sweet. The red beans feel like pinto bean paste, and about 70% sweeter. The sesame and peanut fillings are granular like powdered sugar, and neither has a rich aroma, much like factory products.
Taste preference: Sesame > Peanut > Red Bean
Overall, I feel that the taste is very similar to that made in a factory. Next time I might try freshly packaged mochi to see if it tastes better.
