The John Black Tea Company is a hand-shaken drink shop established in 2017 on Jiangnan Street in Neihu. It is still under ten years old and can be considered young and vibrant. As the name suggests, the shop mainly focuses on black tea, and the menu consists almost entirely of various types of black tea. The Nangang branch is the first franchise opened after the shop steadily operated for more than a year.

Today, I enjoyed the Champagne of Tea, Jade Brew Black Tea, Sikkim Black Tea, and Roasted Fragrance Black Tea, totaling 210 TWD. Each type of tea from the John Black Tea Company has a recommended way to enjoy it, which can be a blessing for those who struggle with choices. Moreover, the no-sugar option proudly reflects the quality of the tea leaves.

Champagne of Tea:
Theoretically based on Darjeeling black tea, its taste is refreshing with a strong fruit fragrance. It is one of the world’s top three teas, and if you taste it without sugar, you will experience the intended astringent flavor of the black tea. It's not unpleasant, but I usually drink it with the suggested three parts sugar.

Jade Brew Black Tea:
This tea uses lychees, specifically the Jade Bag variety, combined with black tea, offering a fresh and natural lychee aroma. Available with three parts sugar.

Sikkim Black Tea:
Made from Nepalese summer Indian tea leaves, it presents not only the flavor profile of Darjeeling but also a unique green apple aroma, which is quite special. Available unsweetened.

Roasted Fragrance Black Tea:
The leaves come from Taiwan and have a distinctive charcoal-roasted aroma, similar to oolong tea, along with a fruity scent. Available unsweetened.

Overall, it's no wonder that a company with a background in tea trade offers such a diverse range of tea varieties, each with its own characteristics and good quality. The shop’s decor features a blue British style, perhaps as a tribute to the historically significant East India Company sharing the same name.
