Yokohama has a long history of over 60 years, constantly innovating as an old coffee brand!
Because Yokohama is a port city and historically served as a gateway for many foreigners entering Japan, many famous old coffee brands have originated from Yokohama!
This Saboten Coffee Shop is also a historic coffee shop, always using its own roasted coffee beans. You can now see their presence at Narita and Haneda airports, as well as in Hokkaido.
This visit was to their branch in the Yokohama PORTA underground mall, where I tried their pasta set for the first time. The pasta is priced at 1080 yen, and the latte with it makes the set only 1288 yen! It’s a great deal!
I ordered the Mentaiko Seafood Pasta, and although it was seafood, there was a lot of zucchini, making it very refreshing! The squid and shrimp were also plump and delicious, and for the price, there’s not much to complain about.
The coffee latte tasted like a medium roast; it was smooth and not overly bitter.
Although this underground mall has many delicious options, if you want to save a bit or are looking for a coffee break while shopping, you should definitely give this place a try!
