✐ Bread - Hazelnut butter and garlic anchovy bread
· Freshly baked, the surface is slightly crispy while the inside is very soft and light (you should be able to feel it from the picture). The spread is really delicious... make sure to scrape the last bite clean.
✐ Soup - Smoked squid and yuzu chicken soup
(I'm sorry I got too engrossed and only took a photo after finishing... but the bowl is beautiful and worth admiring.)
· The appearance is very simple, but upon careful tasting, it is refreshing and sweet, the kind of soup that becomes more addictive with each sip; it's not overwhelming even in the heat of summer.
✐ Salad - Kelp salt and lemon oil vinegar fruit salad
· This is a salad even my mom, who doesn’t like salad, finished. The lettuce isn’t too bitter and is fresh and green. The kelp salt is the finishing touch, and the oil-vinegar dressing is perfect for this season; overall, it’s very refreshing!
✐ Appetizer - Shakshuka-style rice-shaped noodles
· The server asked in advance if I could enjoy it with a raw egg yolk. When the appetizer was served, it looked unassuming, but as soon as I pressed down with my spoon, the yolk spread out, whetting my appetite!
The shop recommends eating it plain first, then mixing it with sour cream. Actually, the plain version is already great, and adding the sour cream gives an extra layer of creaminess and a hint of tang; both ways are worth trying. The rice-shaped noodles are bouncy and smooth and do give a bit of a fulfilling sensation, luckily this dish is meant to be shared between two people. 😋
✐ Pre-meal drink - Selected kombucha
· The kombucha promotes gastrointestinal motility and has a different taste from regular commercial versions, with a slight vinegar punch. I adapted well to it, but if you can’t handle it, you can ask the shop for another drink.
𓌉𓇋 Pan-seared duck breast with creamy wild mushroom sauce $1380
𓌉𓇋 Smoked bacon and potato roasted spring chicken $1380
· The spring chicken is sous-vide and super tender; soaking it in the sauce makes it even more flavorful.
I chose the duck breast medium rare, and the doneness was just right. I highly recommend dipping it in the Hawaiian black salt or the rich wild mushroom sauce, both of which enhance the flavor!
However, by the time the main course arrived, I was already somewhat full, so personally, I think the earlier dishes were actually more surprising. ><
✐ Beverage - Classic herbal tea from Jifs (hot)
· A caffeine-free herbal tea; the server specifically mentioned this cup has no added sugar. You can truly enjoy a very natural sweetness and a subtle floral aroma, making it a very relaxing tea. 🫖
✐ Dessert - Chef's whimsical dessert
· It features a cookie filled with strawberry sorbet in the middle, and the texture is quite unique and sandy. If you're celebrating a birthday, you can ask the shop for a birthday card to place on top! 🎂
