Located near Costco in Hsinchu, "Mò Yǐn" is a hip beverage shop. The store is small but full of design aesthetics, making it a great choice to relax and unwind after shopping at Costco. This time, I ordered two drinks.
"Bourbon Vanilla Milk Cap Buckwheat + Honey Pearls"
Upon receiving it, you can see genuine vanilla bean specks. It's not made with regular synthetic vanilla extract; it has a layered sweetness. The milk cap is very thick. Although it’s a sweet milk cap (I personally prefer savory milk caps), this drink feels like a creative blend of tea and dessert. The buckwheat tea base is outstanding, with a grainy aroma and a refreshing aftertaste, paired with slightly sweet pearls, creating rich layering that is sweet but not overwhelming. If you prefer it less sweet, I suggest skipping the pearls on your first try; it’s still delicious!
"Buckwheat Caramel Pudding"
The pudding has a smooth texture, reminiscent of custard, while the caramel flavor is mild and not overly sweet, creating an excellent balance with the refreshing buckwheat tea.
Overall, "Mò Yǐn" demonstrates sincerity in its presentation and ingredients, making it a rare high-quality beverage shop in the Hsinchu area. After visiting Costco, why not swing by for a soothing cup of vanilla milk cap?
