This time, I visited "Koedo Osatsu-an," which is a 12-minute walk from Honkawagoe Station, to enjoy sweet potato chips!

Kawagoe, a popular tourist destination in Saitama Prefecture, is known for its picturesque architecture reminiscent of Edo-era buildings, hence it's called Koedo (Little Edo).

At "Koedo Osatsu-an," marked by a yellow noren (curtain), there's a variety of sweet potato sweets on display. Especially on weekends, it is bustling with many tourists, so I recommend going early to make your purchase. The signature product, "Osatsu Chips," is an impressive creation made by boldly slicing Kawagoe's famous sweet potatoes vertically and frying them. The cute flower-like appearance makes it very Instagram-worthy and seems to be particularly popular among women.

The Osatsu chips are delicious on their own, but you can choose one dip from 7 to 8 options per serving. If you want more, it's an additional ¥50.

The presentation is quite voluminous! They look adorable like flowers and are great for photos. The thinly sliced Osatsu chips are crispy! Simply seasoned with salt, the natural sweetness of the sweet potato shines through. I thought I couldn't finish it alone, but the delightful texture made it hard to stop, and I polished it off! Additionally, dipping it into the provided salt butter sauce enhances the sweetness of the Osatsu chips with a wonderful salty-butter flavor.
