He Yue Chicken Leg is located at the intersection of Lane 296, Section 6, Minquan East Road, Neihu District, about a five-minute walk from the Huzhou MRT Station, making it a convenient location. I stumbled upon this place for a meal on a tired afternoon and truly felt like I had discovered a gem.
Today, I enjoyed the He Yue Fried Chicken Leg Rice, which costs 105 NTD.
He Yue Fried Chicken Leg Rice:
The size of the fried chicken leg is satisfying, with ample portions. The skin is fried to a golden crisp, and the chicken leg is perfectly cooked, tender, juicy, and not overly greasy. Apart from a few main bone pieces that are hard to chew, many smaller bones are completely crisp from the fryer and can be swallowed directly.
For the side dishes, I chose three: seaweed, braised tofu, and spinach. The seaweed has a refreshing taste, with a perfect balance of sourness and saltiness; the braised tofu is well-seasoned and goes well with rice; and the spinach retains its vibrant green color and sweetness. The performance of the side dishes was truly impressive, and the portion and texture of the white rice were also very good.
The restaurant offers free self-serve seaweed soup, which has a subtle medicinal aroma, adding to the pleasant surprises.
Overall, it is a lunchbox shop where both the main dishes and sides perform exceptionally well. The store's bright orange sign indicates it was established in 2024, making it quite a young establishment. The meal portions are generous and the prices are affordable. Although the seating is not abundant and is somewhat cramped, it is clean and bright, with friendly and efficient service from the staff.
It is definitely a lunchbox shop worth revisiting.
I highly recommend it to everyone!
