Ikigai Ramen has several branches located in Banqiao, Xindian, and Zhonghe.
This time, we visited the newly opened second branch in Zhonghe.

The interior decor is overall comfortable and bright, with a nicely balanced Japanese style.
Overall, the broth could be a bit better, but it is still a place worth visiting.
The char siu rice and yuzu water are excellent!
Additionally, for those who love Anime Songs, it's especially recommended to come here; the selection of songs is great!

【About the Environment】
The seating in the shop is divided into front and back areas. The front has two two-person tables and a three-seat counter table by the window; the back has a four-person table.
The kitchen is located in the middle of the dining area, but there’s no lingering smell of oil from cooking—rather, you can smell the aroma of grilling right away. 👍

Seating isn’t abundant, but since it’s newly opened, there are tables available even during peak hours.

The shop uses Spotify to play music, mostly Anime Songs, and the taste in song selection is excellent.
But I wonder why they don’t subscribe to Spotify Premium… you’ll hear promotional ads otherwise…

【About the Food】
The broth in the two bowls of ramen is rich but not overly salty, showing that care has been taken to brew it.
Unfortunately, the yuzu salt broth has some bitterness characteristic of yuzu peel in the aftertaste; additionally, the broth in the other two bowls of ramen could use a bit more umami.
But overall, it’s still a great broth experience (though I’m quite picky).

The char siu rice performed excellently, with a strong grilling aroma, and the addition of mayonnaise makes it even better!
The soft-boiled egg is cooked to a degree that I enjoy; however, it may be a bit undercooked for most people.
If there are concerns about the doneness, you can ask the shop.

The shop also offers free yuzu water and iced water for customers.
The yuzu water is refreshing and delicious! 👍

【About the Service】
The service is semi-self-service; after using the QR CODE to order, you pay at the counter.
Utensils and beverages are self-service, and you also need to return your dishes to the recycling station after eating.
Do pay attention that they currently only accept cash payments. 💲

Although there aren't many opportunities to interact with the staff, you can still feel their enthusiasm and attentiveness. 👍
