My first experience at SHAKE SHACK 🍔 This time I visited the location in Hyundai Department Store, and it has a very spacious area on the first floor.
Once inside, you need to find a seat yourself, then head to the self-service kiosk nearby to place your order (take-out/dine-in). The machines have a Chinese language option to choose from. Basically, even if the translation isn't perfect, there are pictures to refer to.
Surprisingly, they accept Apple Pay! Many places in Korea don’t have this. The payment option is next to the wooden table by the machine, with an Apple Pay sign, so you just need to bring your phone close to make the payment. Over on the other side, there are many calling machines; you can grab any one and enter the number from the calling machine on the screen. When your order is ready, it will vibrate.
SHAKE SHACK is considered one of the pricier fast food places, but I think it’s still worth it after trying it. Compared to other common fast food chains, the portion sizes are more generous, and the ingredients are very solid, making for a pretty gourmet experience.
𓌉𓇋 Cheese Fries ₩ 6,000 (about $4.50)
· Cheese-covered wavy fries, with a thick layer of cheese sauce on top. I think it’s better to share it with a friend; otherwise, it might be a bit greasy on its own. If you love a rich cheese flavor, you’ll likely enjoy it. The wavy fries aren’t crispy; they have a softer texture. I wouldn't order this again next time.
𓌉𓇋 Shack Stack ₩ 15,300 (about $11.50)
· A generously portioned and layered burger. I saw on the ordering page that it was the best seller, so I decided to order it. The top layer is similar to the blue ribbon cheese-covered pork we usually eat, and when you bite into it, rich cheese oozes out. It has veggies and beef, and from the picture, you can see a super huge slice of mushroom. I thought the whole thing was really satisfying! It’s just that my wallet is crying (that's my flaw, not the burger joint's).
Lastly, remember to self-recycle and sort your trash when leaving!
