Located on Kaifeng Street in Taitung, Song Japanese Diner is a small shop loved by the locals, offering a variety of Japanese home-style dishes such as udon and donburi. Although the storefront is small, it exudes a warm, family-like atmosphere.

This time, I ordered the beef donburi, stir-fried with onions and sauce. The beef slices were tender and juicy, and the sauce was just right, making it very enjoyable with rice. The Japanese croquettes were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, with a smooth and fine mashed potato filling. Occasionally, there was cheese or meat in the center, which paired perfectly with the ketchup. The cold stir-fried dragon beard vegetables served as a refreshing side dish that effectively cleansed the palate, retaining the natural sweetness of the vegetables and drizzled with sesame oil and vinegar for a refreshing flavor.

Overall, Song Japanese Diner offers a great value for money, with a warm and friendly dining atmosphere. The owner often proactively asks if customers would like extra soup or rice, showing attentive service. Although the food isn't overly refined and the serving speed may be a bit slow, as a local family-style Japanese eatery, it is really quite good.
