I really love drinking sugarcane juice. When I was young, my granduncle would sell freshly squeezed sugarcane juice on Linkou Street in the Xinyi District of Taipei. He used black sugarcane, which was super sweet. In winter, we would keep it in a thermos and heat it up over a stove. Although the sweetness would diminish when heated, the fragrant sweetness would elevate. Plus, with freshly squeezed lemon juice added, a cup cost 45 TWD for 150ml. It was incredibly delicious XD.

I loved helping out there because I could drink sugarcane juice. It was awesome, and I even had the rare opportunity to go to the market with my granduncle to bring back bundles of black sugarcane to process.

Nowadays, sugarcane juice is mainly made from white sugarcane, which doesn’t have the same rich sweetness as black sugarcane, but it’s still warm and tasty.

If you want to clear heat and soothe your lungs, you might consider adding ginger juice. The spiciness of the ginger combined with the sweetness of the sugarcane creates a unique taste that those who like it will really enjoy XD.

These days, there are many flavor combinations for sugarcane juice. Ginger sugarcane has also become a winter beverage, along with sugarcane milk tea. It doesn’t add any artificial sweeteners, substitutes, or granulated sugar... it just combines the natural sweetness of sugarcane with milk tea. Drinking it brings a refreshing sweetness and a flavor of sugarcane.
