In the food street of the Wunchang Showtime in Taichung, if you want to find a drink to enjoy while watching a movie, there aren't too many choices. In the end, I walked over to a familiar hand-shaken drink brand and ordered a cup of COCO's Doudou Green Tea. Usually, this drink isn't considered cheap when bought outside, but I was still taken aback when I saw the checkout amount—75 NTD for a cup! It clearly feels a bit more expensive than at regular street-side vendors, probably reflecting the prices typical of a department store and cinema district.
The drink itself maintained the usual quality. Doudou Green Tea tastes sweet and slightly sour, with a fragrant lactic acid aroma complemented by the refreshing green tea flavor. It's a safe choice that’s less likely to disappoint. Having a few sips of the ice-cold drink before entering the cinema is indeed quite refreshing and pairs well with popcorn or heavier movie snacks. The slight sweetness is quite pleasant.
Overall, this cup of Doudou Green Tea didn’t bring any particular surprises, but it also didn’t disappoint. The price is indeed on the higher side, but in a place like Wunchang Showtime, it seems like there's no choice but to accept it. As a supporting character before the movie starts, it still competently fulfilled its role as a drink.
