Comments from a braces-wearer: There are two sinks, which is quite convenient! 👍
When I arrived in Taichung, a friend recommended this place "Bawei Lamb Pot." We were quite lucky to get a seat on a holiday evening without having to wait in line, but it quickly got crowded and we had to take a number.
The three of us ordered the signature set menu ($1150), which included:
Lamb pot, freshly grilled lamb chops, premium lamb slices, Bawei meatballs, Bawei special tofu, Bawei roll, fresh soybean skin, lion's mane mushrooms, and cabbage.
In addition, we ordered:
Baby corn $60
Rice blood cake $50
Shiitake mushrooms $60
Radish $60
Premium lamb slices $150
Lamb tendons $150
Mountain amaranth $60
Lamb pot $300
Two servings of lamb minced noodles $100
After adding a 5% service charge, the total amount came to $2247.
Dining experience:
Charcoal hot pot is especially suitable in winter. The broth is rich with the aroma of ginger and sesame oil, but it can become a bit salty and oily after cooking for a while. The lamb chops are somewhat tough, while the lamb slices are softer. The lamb tendons need to be cooked longer to become softer and richer in gelatin. The freshly grilled lamb chops have a cumin fragrance, with a bouncy texture that isn't hard to chew. The noodles are flavored with lamb mince, which is different from the usual taste and very aromatic. Overall, the lamb doesn't have a gamey taste, and the dishes were quite good, though the chairs were not very comfortable.
