A long-established local restaurant in Taipei, known for its affordable prices, offers a 90-minute all-you-can-eat hotpot and barbecue for only 250 NTD per person, without service charges, regardless of the time!
Ps. You can dine alone, but it costs an additional 50 NTD, and you can only choose either hotpot or barbecue. If you want both as a single person, it will be 350 NTD.
The overall style is very local, and the seating is a bit cramped. If you're looking to have a chill chat and gathering with friends, this place may not be suitable. However, if you want to experience the authentic old-school vibes of Taiwan, it's highly recommended to come and try the food. The staff are all older but very friendly, and they will explain the dining process as soon as you enter. Due to the economical pricing, the restaurant will charge per table during the meal, and they will remind guests when the time is about to be up. On the day I visited alone and chose barbecue, they used gas cylinders here, providing strong heat, so you don't have to worry about cooking too slowly during the 90 minutes. The owner will start with a piece of butter to lubricate the grill, and they will also provide a bowl of broth (you can ask the owner if they forget to give it). After that, just keep the heat on low to medium, and remember to add more broth to prevent sticking.
The leafy vegetables, meat, and hotpot ingredients are all self-service and there are plenty of options. Although the meat is a mix, it’s very reasonable for the price. The drinks are all in individual bottles, and there are also ice cream and traditional popsicles available (which I forgot to take pictures of). Even though it's a small place, it has everything you need!
