"All-you-can-eat Douhua hidden under the arcade in Xitun, Taichung."
🔺 Environment
All the seats are under the arcade. In summer, it’s recommended to take out because there’s no air conditioning.
You don’t have to worry about getting sunburned during the sunset in the afternoon, but the shop will lower a curtain to block the sunset.
The tables are quite clean, and the shop’s cleaning speed is very fast.
Every time I pass by, it's always crowded.
🔺 Dishes
Plain white Douhua + tapioca pearls (soup base: Thai milk tea) no ice 💰 40
The Douhua has a strong soybean flavor; it doesn’t seem to be made from powder.
The tapioca pearls have a nice chewy texture and are not mushy, which is quite surprising, as the shop offers many different toppings. I was worried that with so many choices, the quality might not be maintained well, fearing the pearls would be subpar.🤣
It's recommended to choose crushed ice for the Thai milk tea base; without ice, the tea itself is a bit too sweet.
It’s sweet enough to be a bit overwhelming for someone like me, who has an aversion to sweetness, but the Thai milk tea has a lovely tea aroma, which is great.👍
You can get a free refill of Douhua, but you should note that the soup base can only be refilled with brown sugar syrup; other soup bases are not allowed for refills. This policy was implemented after some customers wasted them.😭
🤗 Summary
The Douhua is delicious, and the quality of the toppings is also commendable.
The price is reasonable, and refills are free; I can only say the owner is incredibly kind-hearted.
