A few years ago, I had a meal at a store in a department store. My impression of it was that it was a bit expensive with good service and a nice environment, but the food was average 😂. I discovered that the street-side store had a vegetable buffet, which piqued my interest to visit.
This time, I just happened to catch the Wang Pin app's voucher event (until 8/31), offering a 12% discount on specified main dishes, so I ordered the following.
▪️ Flank Steak L $498
▪️ Domestic Pork Loin L $448
According to the staff, the L size is 170g.
The Pork Loin was what my friend ordered; it was standard and normal. When the Flank Steak first arrived at the table, I felt that the marbling looked a bit lacking, and there was a strong frozen texture, although the portion looked sizable. However, when I ate it, each piece had a tough tendon (like a small bone level) that was hard to chew. The meat quality was also average. Because that tendon was too troublesome, I asked the staff, and they were very good about it, going to check the meat situation in the back. They eventually tried one piece to make sure it was okay before replacing the entire plate with a new one. I have to say that the marbling and meat quality were very different.
I think the buffet was average; there weren't many leafy vegetable options, but they had the necessary ingredients. They even offered seafood paste for filling out the survey. Notably, they provided beef for sukiyaki, and they gave a lot of beef which was very tender and tasty! Eating it with a big bowl of rice was no problem 👍.
Overall, if I hadn’t swapped the meat, I probably wouldn’t consider coming back since there are many buffet options like this. However, the way the staff handled the situation was quite good, and the discount made it quite cost-effective. Plus, I really liked the Japanese-style decor of the restaurant, and the dining environment was very comfortable. The above dining experience is for reference.
P.S. On that day, I don’t know if there was a problem with the service bell, but it often rang and no one came 😂. It could also be that there weren’t enough staff on site, making it inconvenient to request extra soup.
