Just in time for the anniversary celebration, I noticed that San Shang Qiao Fu had a beef noodle promotion for 109 NT dollars. Given the current prices, this is quite acceptable, after all, the meals at San Shang Qiao Fu have consistently maintained a decent standard, not likely to miss the mark, but there’s nothing particularly impressive about it either. Since Carrefour is nearby, I thought I might as well go in and have a bite.

As soon as the beef noodles arrived at my table, the soup base gave me an indescribable sense of familiarity. Is it that instant noodles are like San Shang Qiao Fu, or is it the other way around? Perhaps it's because the flavor of the broth is a bit singular; although it has both saltiness and aroma, it just lacks a bit of richness. The portion of beef chunks is decent—nothing too little—but the quality feels somewhat like a commercial product, lacking any standout qualities.

As for the noodles, the texture is quite good, not overly soft or mushy. However, to be honest, if it weren’t for the promotional price, I probably wouldn’t spend money on this, because the regular price probably falls within the range of 140 to 160 NT dollars for a bowl, which makes the cost-performance ratio less appealing.

In summary, this bowl of beef noodles is much like San Shang Qiao Fu's positioning itself, firmly standing in the realm of "won't disappoint but also won't surprise." If you happen to encounter a promotional offer, like this anniversary special of 109 NT dollars, then it’s fine to have a simple meal.
