After attending a warm and love-filled wedding, some old friends I hadn't seen in a while and I decided not to let this wonderful day end too quickly. So we took a walk to TOASTERiA CAFE on Caowu Road to continue our chat.
We didn't order too much, just a simple serving of French fries, stir-fried broccoli with mushrooms, and a pot of Sangria, but the atmosphere was just right. The French fries were fried to a golden crisp, and the thick cut allowed each bite to carry the natural aroma of the potatoes. After dipping, they gained an extra layer of rich creaminess and a hint of garlic spice, complemented by the slightly sour salsa sauce, which was surprisingly refreshing. While eating and chatting, we unknowingly finished the whole plate.
Their Sangria, made with red wine, was also quite nice. The chilled drink was infused with slices of lemon, orange, and apple, offering a rich fruity aroma while the wine felt light and not too harsh. For us, just having come from a formal occasion and transitioning into a relaxed state, it was a comfortable step. A gentle sip allowed us to unwind completely and opened up more topics to discuss.
Moreover, if we finish this drink, there are plenty of bars around the square to explore, such as Draft Land, which is a popular spot for young people in Taichung for a beer run.
