대림창고 大林倉庫

A café that combines retro and artistic elements is located in the popular shopping district of Seongdong-gu 🚇, just a 300-meter walk from Exit 3 of Seongdong Station. The place is called Daelim Warehouse, which was once a rice mill in the 1970s and has now been transformed into a café. The interior design still maintains a vintage look with red bricks and concrete, creating an incredibly spacious environment—with a second floor that can comfortably accommodate over a hundred guests.

Years ago, when I visited Korea on a tour, the guide brought us to this café. She said it was her top recommendation in Seongdong, but unfortunately, I didn’t listen to her and went shopping instead. This time, I am determined to pay homage to it on my return to Korea. 🫡

Those with a soft spot for carbs will go crazy over the bread station in the middle. The dessert fridge is also filled with tempting treats that make it too easy to order extra (՞⸝⸝o̴̶̷̮̬᷉ࡇ̠̏o̴̶̷̬᷉⸝⸝՞).

The prices are moderate, but the atmosphere is great, and it’s amusing to watch couples showing affection. 🙂‍↕️ It’s not an exaggeration; we were seated by the wall, and all the seats in front, right, and back were taken by couples. I think if I had come alone, I might have shed a tear. .ᐟ‪.ᐣ

While strawberries are still in season, be sure to indulge in their strawberry desserts. The drinks and desserts here are all delightful. In fact, I usually find many Korean café drinks too sweet because they often use syrup, but thankfully, the strawberry milk I bought this time tasted genuinely like fresh strawberries and had just the right level of sweetness.

The cream on the cakes was smooth and not overly rich. The chocolate was bittersweet, making it a place I would want to revisit—indeed, there was a good reason for the guide’s recommendation. 🤩
