This is the Champion Breakfast Restaurant. There are no decorations, and the seating is cramped, but it has a familiar breakfast shop atmosphere. The staff is very friendly, and it feels like many regulars just order and sit down to eat.
Online, everyone raves about the crispy egg pancakes, and once you order them, you realize how crispy they actually are. The owner even asked if I wanted them fried a bit crispier, which was great. However, the old problem persists: when taken to go, they tend to get a bit greasy; although the texture is good, they are indeed a bit oily.
This time we ordered:
Milk Tea (small cup) 15 TWD — It’s the kind of milk tea you find at breakfast shops; sweet, fragrant, and smooth, but not particularly memorable.
Mushroom Iron Plate Noodles 35 TWD — The portion is quite substantial, and the sauce is sweet and salty, pairing well with a soft-boiled egg.
Tuna Egg Pancake 40 TWD — The pancake is fried nice and crispy, and the filling is generous, which includes some celery—a bit unique. However, when taken home, it gets a bit greasy and heavy.
Pork Egg Toast 40 TWD — It’s just the type of white toast with pork, egg, and cucumber; simple flavors, easy to eat but not special.
Overall, it’s a place I would want to visit again, especially if dining in and enjoying freshly made food, which should be much better. The prices are reasonable, the portions are sufficient, and being able to have crispy egg pancakes at a local breakfast shop is a small delight.
