【Foodholic Naiko@Rome, Italy】
This was our last dinner in Rome. We originally planned to go to a restaurant called "Nerone", but because we didn't make a reservation, it was already fully booked when we arrived at 7:30 pm. The next flight had to wait until 9:30 pm, but The security in Rome is really not very good after dark, so we had to give up and find an Italian restaurant across the street.
This "La degusteria del principe" is located near Roma Termini Station, about an 8-minute walk away. The restaurant is located in the basement, but there are still some seats outdoors on the first floor.
Marinated pork cheek and cheese spaghetti €14
There are four must-eat pastas in Rome. I have already eaten Cacio e Pepe (black pepper cheese pasta) and Carbonara (cheese and bacon egg custard pasta). Today I had Mezze Maniche alla Gricia (marinated pork cheeks). Cheese Italian Hollow Tube Spaghetti) I think it tastes like a combination of the first two, which is delicious. The pasta and bacon are both very salty...need to be mixed with water...
Chicken steak with French fries and lettuce €15
After being disappointed with the Italian fried chicken before, I bravely ordered the fried chicken steak this time. The result was unexpectedly good. It was a bit like the karaage chicken steak that was not as tender in texture. Squeezing in lemon juice would make it taste better. The portion of fries is huge and delicious~ The only flaw is the lettuce, I won’t eat it after one bite
It’s worth mentioning that this restaurant didn’t charge the table, and of course they wouldn’t give us bread. This seemed to be the first time we didn’t charge the fee at so many Italian restaurants in Italy for 11 days.
Overall, I think the taste of the food is about 70 points, and the attitude of the waiters and the cleanliness of the environment are also 70 points. If I don't know what to eat nearby, I would like to visit again. Next time I want to try the signature seafood series~
