This is the first Bak Kut Teh I have tried

But actually I didn’t know what Bak Kut Teh was.
Until the store
First of all, I was surprised by the environment and atmosphere in the store.

It feels like going back to the humble old store from 20 years ago
Just a few basic tables
No air conditioning either
At that time I wanted to say, wow, this is where we are!

(But in fact, I later found out that the house next door also belongs to them.
It is a very modern restaurant and also has air conditioning.

And after ordering Bak Kut Teh
When the food was served, I realized it was different from what I imagined.
Is it true that Bak Kut Teh is a soup with pork ribs, meat and tea?

It really surprised me
And if there are no other side dishes,
The portion is actually very small🤣🤣🤣

10% curious. Is this the legendary Bak Kut Teh?
Or maybe I just went to the wrong store and got shocked!

So I ordered the amount for one person.

The store clerk will also ask if there are any other ingredients needed.
Including tofu skin, tofu, etc.
or other internal organs

I added tofu and tofu skin that day.
Besides, nothing else is added

And when the food is served, there are pots and plates of Bak Kut Teh for you.
Of course there are meat and bones and tea in it.

It also greatly increases the temperature of the whole room.

There is basically no atmosphere at all when dining here.

But later I discovered that there was another dining area next to it

More like the current modern look

With normal decoration and air conditioning
Although the space is not big
After all, there are a lot of people and a lot of guests.
Almost all the tables are occupied
But in terms of dining environment
More suitable for normal dining experience

When you first order food, you have to go to the counter and order with someone.
Then the staff will bring your Bak Kut Teh to you
There is no special service in this part
Probably when ordering food
The service staff will actively recommend what ingredients you can add.
Although I’m not quite sure what those materials are🤣🤣

In fact, it’s not cheap to eat like this.
Because overall I can’t eat much.
But I didn’t expect that the price is not cheap either.
It feels like I only ate a few pieces of pork ribs and bak kut tea soup
It also costs more than 20 ringgit.

This is also a busy area.
There are many food shops and so on next to it
So it should be considered a good seat
In addition, there is a department store nearby

It should be considered a consumption area.
But it’s not easy to find a parking space here either.
Maybe we have to park further away, it's more convenient to walk over.

My first experience with bak kut teh was a bit bad
Not sure, is this the legendary Bak Kut Teh in Malaysia and Singapore?

If so, then it’s really not special🥹🥹🥹
Therefore, I personally feel that this Bak Kut Teh is not a special place to eat.

I will continue to look for other Bak Kut Teh shops
