Korean Solo Eating Journey - Standard Bread 🍞
In Seongsu-dong, which is filled with many artsy little shops, a giant adorable toast has appeared!
This shop is actually about a 10-minute walk from the most popular street area, and its appearance is like a barn, with a large toast on the wall.
Seating is divided into indoor and outdoor areas, and you can choose when your number is called. However, as summer is approaching, everyone chooses indoor seating, making the outdoor wait much shorter!
I drew my number at 11 AM on a Wednesday and saw that there were still quite a few groups ahead, so I wandered nearby. I didn't expect to miss my turn—about an hour later, it was finally my turn.
The second time I drew my number was at 12:30, and there were actually fewer people. This time, I was smart and waited outside, and it took about half an hour before I had a seat!
🥘 Caramel French Toast ₩11,000
I came here specifically for this French toast; the menu also had a pistachio flavor, but since it was my first time, I had to try the classic version. The toast is served on a cast iron plate, and when it arrived, the sauce was still bubbling beside it. When I cut into it, the inside was soaked with juice, almost hiding the toast fibers; the texture was pudding-like and melted in my mouth. The top layer had a caramel crust that added a hint of caramel flavor—really delicious. However, the portion was a bit large; one serving for one person was quite filling, especially since it was quite sweet. Luckily, it came with berry jam and honey to change the flavor and save my stomach.
🥤 Iced Americano ₩5,000
I ordered the iced Americano because I was afraid the other stuff would be too sweet and rich, but it turned out to be quite ordinary XD.
If you really want to drink something, the shop has self-service water that you can fill up, saving money and being practical.
