This time, I had hot pot with friends on Yongkang Street and chose "Grassland Mongolian Hot Pot Yongkang Store." It features a Mongolian-style hot pot, and the restaurant provides Mongolian outfits for photo opportunities. The decor has a very exotic feel, making it quite a unique experience.
Today we ordered a three-beef platter. The vegetable platter and hot pot arrived quickly. We had to try a sip of the soup first! Since my friends and I all love spicy food, I have to say the spicy soup was really flavorful! (It’s spicy but not too hot, giving a warming sensation in the stomach.) I’ve always liked eating Mongolian hot pot, so I’m used to it not coming with dipping sauces (which is why I always choose a spicy base). If anyone really needs sauce, they can ask the server for some simple condiments!
The colorful noodles in the vegetable rainbow noodles were so cute. I thought the sauce for the good flavored rice was a bit too little and there was a bit too much rice. (If you're not a fan of eating a lot of rice, you might want to skip this one.)
While dining, you can also challenge the staff to Mongolian wrestling. If you win, you can receive a postcard (which is quite cute).
After the meal, you receive tokens that you can drop into a donation box at the entrance. The restaurant donates a portion of its income based on the units prompted by customer tokens!
The 1.5-hour dining time felt a bit rushed, but I really felt full after finishing my meal👌.
