Maison Dandoy - Tearoom & Waffle

When you come to Belgium, you can't miss trying waffles. There are actually two or three very famous waffle shops around here, and this one is among them. This brand not only has a waffle shop but also another place that specializes in selling cookies. I visited both stores because they're part of the same brand, but if everyone is looking for my address, this one is the one that specializes in waffles!

However, I didn't expect the service at such a well-known waffle shop to be quite ordinary. At first, I went to the second floor of the waffle shop and found it to be very dimly lit. I noticed that the customers at the next table seemed to have been there for quite a while without ordering, and the table behind them had been waiting for a long time before finally receiving their meals, but it seemed they received the wrong dessert 🥞. After noticing this situation, we decided to go downstairs and eat in the outdoor area! When dining outdoors, you need to go to the counter to place your order, and after ordering, you wait for the food to be ready and then take it outside to enjoy. Personally, I think this is much faster! Plus, you won't have to face the not-so-great service from the server on the second floor!

As for the snacks, I think they were pretty good, although still a bit too sweet for Asian palates. However, the waffles were quite nice, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The whipped cream was very delicate, and the overall combination was sweet and tangy, which I think is a good choice! Just a note, my friend's chocolate one was really quite sweet, so when choosing, everyone should consider their own taste preferences!
