For me, besides having dry noodles for breakfast when I come to Keelung, another option is to eat scallion pancakes! Today I came to Zhou's, and I must say this is my favorite scallion pancake shop, no doubt about it.
This time I ordered:
⭐️ Egg pancake 💰32
I ordered a piece of scallion pancake that is first fried and then baked. If I get an egg pancake, I have them crack an egg directly into the pan while frying it. It has a crispy texture with the aroma of flour and the sweetness of scallions. Plus, adding spicy sauce enhances the saltiness. This is the taste I remember.
⭐️ Savory soy milk 💰20
This one is more ordinary and not a must-try.
Zhou's is a place I have been eating at since I was little. I remember they used to sell dry noodles and wonton soup. I don't know when it started, but due to a shortage of staff, only the current menu remains. It was a complete shock when I found out 😢. Fortunately, I have found another place to reminisce about (?).
Additionally, the closer it gets to noon, the more people will start to queue. I recommend going early to avoid waiting so long (I visited at 5:25 this time, and there was no wait at all). The oil and smoke inside the place are really heavy. About half an hour after eating, I returned to the hotel with a body full of scallion pancake aroma. If that bothers you, takeout is an option!
In summary, when in Keelung, you must try the scallion pancakes. They are quite different from those in Yilan, but I believe you won’t be disappointed!
