A café that I've saved for a while, not far from Banqiao Far Eastern Department Store, located in an old-style house in a small alley. I thought it was a small space, but it actually has two floors, and the seating areas have different styles that create a great atmosphere!
▪️Tiramisu $180
I came for the tiramisu and pudding, but unfortunately, the pudding was sold out by the time I arrived (before 1 PM) 🥲. The tiramisu was quite smooth, with a good balance of ladyfingers and mascarpone, and just the right amount of moisture. It didn’t have any alcohol flavor, but it felt like it lacked depth, becoming a bit sweet towards the end.
▪️Oolong Tea and Mandarin Chiffon Cake $190
Very cute-looking, with a nice tea aroma, and the mandarin was tasty. The chiffon itself was fluffy, but for some reason, it had a strong milky taste, possibly from milk powder, which affected the flavor quite a bit. By the end, I felt a bit… not loving it 🥲.
▪️Sesame Latte H $170
▪️Winter Melon Latte H $170
I must say, their coffee looks like a small cup but is very strong!! Unfortunately, I should have just ordered a classic latte as I would have preferred a stronger milk flavor. Both the sesame and winter melon were quite unique, but I felt they didn’t add much, just a change of flavor. However, you can definitely tell the coffee is excellent.
Overall, I really liked the style of the shop. I didn’t go to the second floor, but the first floor felt very comfortable, giving me a nostalgic feeling like being at my grandma’s house, haha. There was also a cat outside (seemed to be a stray or free-roaming cat), but I was a bit disappointed that the cake I ordered didn’t suit my taste. They also have brunch and main meal options to choose from.
