Located in the B3 Food Street of京站 (Taipei Station), Ten Ren Tea offers a great experience even with a considerable line. The flow and efficiency of service are well designed, so the waiting time is not too long, making it very convenient for shoppers who are tired from walking in the department store and want to quickly grab a drink to quench their thirst.
This time, I chose the "Pure Honey Black Tea," which is black tea mixed with honey water. Upon tasting, the refreshing flavor of the black tea comes first; the tea base is not too heavy or astringent, while the honey gradually emerges in the aftertaste, bringing out a natural sweetness. Unlike the sweetness from regular sugar syrup, honey has a softer flavor with a hint of floral notes, making the overall mouthfeel of the tea more rounded.
The sweetness level in this drink is well-balanced, making it refreshing and not sticky, even providing a slight relief from greasiness. Especially after a shopping spree, it cools my throat and perfectly alleviates the heat and fatigue of urban shopping.
The only small regret is that, for consumers who prefer strong tea, the black tea base may seem slightly light, lacking a bit of depth. If there were options to adjust the strength of the tea base or the sweetness level, it would increase the flexibility of the drink and cater to more diverse preferences.
Overall, Ten Ren Tea's "Pure Honey Black Tea" is a refreshing, smooth drink choice that's perfect for everyday enjoyment. It doesn't offer intense surprises, but it's easy to drink, and the natural sweetness of the honey adds more depth to the whole cup. For shoppers looking to take a break and find a revitalizing drink, this is a safe and reliable choice.
