The Fengshang Cultural Café in Taichung is a longstanding composite café that has been in operation for many years. The interior space is quite spacious, featuring the style commonly found in early cultural restaurants. With high ceilings, bright and clean European-style décor, and ample space between the seats, the overall atmosphere encourages leisurely chatting, reading, or even conducting meetings. Compared to the small cafés that are currently popular, this place resembles the cafés of the past that emphasized a sense of space and comfort.
This time, I ordered a cup of American coffee, which is the most basic option. When the coffee was served, it had a delicate aroma; the bitterness was not strong, and the acidity was also not noticeable. Overall, it is smooth and easy to drink, without a very strong character. Although it can't be called a specialty coffee with intricate layers, in this kind of environment, it feels just right; you can sip it slowly for a while without feeling burdened.
Overall, the food itself is not the most appealing aspect, but the comfortable environment and consistent quality allow Fengshang Cultural Café to maintain its value. If you get tired from strolling around the nearby Fengle Park and just want to find a place to sit back and relax, ordering a cup of American coffee here is a good choice.
