My first attempt at Thai-style hot pot 🇹🇭 seems quite rare in the market, but this place can be found in Taipei, Taoyuan, and Taichung ~ The atmosphere and decor inside the restaurant left a strong impression on me; I noticed the decor while passing by in a car and it caught my attention to come in for a meal, making me feel like I was in a vacation spot 🤣 However, the price per customer for this meal isn't low (especially compared to other Thai places). The flavors were pretty spot on; the coconut milk chicken had a strong creamy taste, and the Tom Yum was appetizing and paired well with any ingredients.

My favorite dish was the Thai style shrimp cake 👍🏻; this one is a must-order. The crispy outer layer contains a textured shrimp paste, and dipping it in the special sauce on the side is so tasty. I also tried their signature fish paste, where a professional staff member helps to serve it into the pot. Interestingly, they first drizzle the fish paste with the hot pot broth before adding it into the pot in batches. However, the texture isn't what we usually expect from fish paste; I personally think it's good to try once 😹. The meat was average; it was fresh but didn't leave a special impression.

The vegetable basket was arranged beautifully, and the quality of the vegetables seemed carefully selected. For our Thai milk tea, we ordered one iced and one hot. It can’t be adjusted for sweetness, but when having Thai cuisine, you need to have a cup! The hot tea is a bit sweeter than the iced one, so if you don’t want it too sweet, the iced option might be better ~

Here’s what we ordered this time (for two people; it's actually quite enough to eat):
In the end, we packed both soup bases to take home, which is really a deal (?). I highly recommend bringing someone celebrating their birthday; the restaurant's birthday promotion offers a number of shrimp equal to the age of the birthday person 🦐. On the day we dined, the other tables nearby had plates full of shrimp, so we might come back next time when we have a birthday to celebrate ˶ˊᜊˋ˶ᐝ

Nourish Thai
ThaiNew York
Nourish Thai is a popular restaurant with good food and a pleasant atmosphere. We like sitting outdoors when we bring our dog and the indoor space is bright and flowery. We ordered the Pad See Ew with chicken as lunch special and a Bamee Moo Dang Poo (egg noodle with pork and crab) which I tried out of curiosity. I wasn't so excited about it and had plenty of shells in the crab meat, and in general was on the bland side. The Pad See Ew was great and is consistently good so that was nice. With lunch special it has good value too giving you an appetizer and a soup which we also liked. Great place for Thai that's near us, so we're happy to come here.

💛 Affordable local street food 😻 US$1.25 for a super scrumptious giant bowl of double-drumstick thai boat noodle in deliciously medicinal lemongrass herbal broth of wonderful richness that definitely could make every picky foodie drool — not to mention that their customer service is immaculately excellent up to the worldwide standards of most so-called 5-star Michelin’s ostentatious dining places; humble, down to earth & most importantly, they respect and show genuine love to and for the food they diligently harvest, urbanely prepare and joyfully cherish. An easy 5 Stars here, undoubtedly no further explanation is ever needed 🤩 wysiwyg, as simple and loving as that 🍗🍗 much love x infinity!! More Power to them, please keep supporting great food and hope they could continue to build a fantastic restaurant 🦾💪🏿💪🏾💪🏽💪🏻

The Original Boat Noodle Subang Bestari
ThaiShah Alam
A chain of the popular thai boat noodle, known for its small noodle dishes aka boat noodles and its many side dishes. Parking is relatively easy to find, though it may be different on weekdays as the help university is nexr door. The shop is clean with some outdoor seating available. Though i am not a fan of the dated table and chairs. The half chair half stool combination doesnt go well as some customers may prefer proper chairs instead of stools. The place is manned by a small crew of staff which is fine with the set up of the shop. You order on a piece of paper and pass it to the staff. Food came quick. The pathumthani had a sweet taste to it, while the ayyuthaya had a more herbal taste to it. The Khao Soi was creamy coconut curry with some spice to it. All bowls come with a choice of noodles and meat. Portion size was fine for the cheap price as you get the chance to sample the different noodles. I like the spicy creamy taste of the Khao Soi and the sweetness of the pathumthani; while the ayyuthaya was just ok for me. The crispy kangkung tempura was very good. It came with a dipping sauce that complements it well. The taro milk tea was abit sweet but i was looking forward to it. Overall, its not a wow place with super authentic thai taste, but a decent place for a meal with affordable prices and many small dishes to choose from. Will be back here when the cravings for thai boat noodles hit.
