Is there anything more comforting than having a hot brown sugar latte on a cold winter day~~
“Lenon Said” is located near Jiantan Station, about a 5-minute walk from Exit 1, tucked away in what looks like a market entrance, but it's really easy to find.
“Lenon Said” is a takeaway coffee shop, with the only seating being a small bench at the door and two high stools. However, since it’s right next to Section 5 of Zhongshan North Road, there are plenty of benches available on the sidewalk for resting, so after purchasing a cup of coffee, it’s quite pleasant to sit there.
The shop is run solely by the owner, who takes care of ordering, checking out, and making the drinks all by themselves. So if there are more customers, be patient!
The popular drinks at “Lenon Said” are the brown sugar latte and brown sugar milk, both of which can be served hot or cold. It’s recommended not to put a lid on it and drink it directly.
I came here today specifically for the popular drinks!
Hot brown sugar latte $100
Watching the owner prepare it, I noticed that the top of the brown sugar latte is generously sprinkled with a lot of brown sugar powder—it's really overflowing. Even before taking a sip, I already felt comforted.
The latte is usually more milky and less coffee-flavored, and even I, who prefer milky drinks, feel that this latte doesn’t have much coffee taste. Honestly, it’s not that impressive on its own.
However, when paired with the brown sugar powder, the sweet flavor is quite nice; you unknowingly consume quite a bit of sugar.
The owner was very polite and told me that if there wasn’t enough brown sugar powder, I could ask for more. When I did ask for more, they also told me that since the latte no longer had foam, the brown sugar powder would settle at the bottom. They gave me a cup lid and straw so I could stir it while drinking, preventing it from being suddenly too sweet at the end.
Overall, the brown sugar latte is good, but perhaps my initial expectations were too high, so I feel it’s not as amazing as what people say. It’s not necessary to make a special trip just for it, but if I happen to be in the area, I would be willing to buy it again.
